Ministry of Health recommendations for Third Dose of Covid-19 vaccine
This post clarifies who is eligible for a third dose of Covid vaccine. Note that anyone taking immunosuppresant listed by the Ministry does not need to present a referral letter from their physician in order to receive the third dose.
Pharmacists can verify if a patient is taking an immunosuppressant by referring to the patient's medication profile. But patients do not have to be your patients to be eligible. If the patient is not from your pharmacy, confirm with their prescription label, receipt or a call to their pharmacy. If their medication is not listed and they do not qualify under the broader criteria, direct them to their prescriber to see if they qualify for a referral letter.
