Refund Policy
Member dues paid online will be voided on request. Where that is not possible, the Association will either credit your card number or refund your payment by cheque or e-transfer once we have received confirmation that funds have been deposited.

We are a non-profit organization that uses its own social media accounts as an online platform for professionals. People use our website to find local continuing education. Our Privacy Policy applies to any Member or Visitor to our Services
Our registered users (members and non-members) share their professional identities, participate in professional continuing education, learn and develop skills, and find business and career opportunities. Content and data on the website are viewable to non-members.

To register as a member, you need to provide data including your name, email address and/or mobile number, and an OCP Registration number (if applicable). If you register for membership, you will need to provide payment (e.g., credit card) billing information to our secure on-line payment system.
1.2 Explicit Non-Collection of Personal Financial Information
MTPA does not keep any financial credit card information. If membership is paid through our secure on-line payment system, any refunds will be completed through that payment system or by cheque.
1.3 Service Use
Any personal data given is solely for the purposes of running the MTPA. We log your visits and use of our services. We monitor usage data when you visit or otherwise open our emails, including when you view or click on content (e.g. on-line learning presentation).

We collect data through cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies to collect data (e.g., device IDs) to recognize you and your device(s) on, off and across different services and devices to see where you have engaged with our services.
1.5 Workplace and School Information
When you join the MTPA, we maintain your job title and workplace (employer or school) in order to provide you with the most appropriate learning events. While pharmacists have attended all events in the past, our opening of education to pharmacy Technicians and pharmacy students has made this information important to tailor learning and to advise sponsors appropriately.
2. Use of Your Data
We use your data to provide relevant support and develop our services. How we use your personal data will depend on which services you use. We do not sell or share your personal data and we respect your privacy at all times.
2.1 Communications
We will contact you through email, mobile phone, notices posted on our website and through the MTPA social media accounts. We will send you messages about the availability of our services, security, or other service-related issues. We send messages about how to attend our educational meetings, website updates, reminders, promotional messages from us and our partners.
We may email you surveys conducted by us and others through our email or on our social media sites. You are not obligated to respond to polls or surveys, and you have choices about the information you provide. You may opt-out of survey invitations.

We promote our services to you and others. However, we do not share your personal information between anyone. We use Members’ data and content for invitations and communications promoting membership and network growth, engagement and our organization. Sponsors may collect some data from you including your name, email address when signing up for on-line programs.

We use data to help you and fix problems.
We use data (which can include your communications) to investigate, respond to and resolve complaints and for Service issues (e.g., bugs).
2.4 Security and Investigations
We use data for security, fraud prevention and investigations in case someone else is trying to reach us on your behalf without express consent or legal obligation.

Your personal information is not profile visible to any Members or visitors of our website.

Our social media allow viewing and sharing information including through posts, likes, follows and comments

We use others to help us provide our services (e.g., maintenance, analysis, audit, payments, fraud detection, marketing and development). They will have access to your information as reasonably necessary to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for other purposes.

We keep most of your personal data for as long as your account is open.
We generally retain your personal data as long as you keep your account open or as needed to provide you Services. Even if you only use our membership for a year, we will retain your information and keep your profile open, unless you unsubscribe from your account. Your data may be stored in our on-line server in Canada.
4.2 Rights to Access and Control Your Personal Data
You have the right to change or delete your personal data. You have many choices about how your data is collected, used and shared.

4.3 Account Closure
We keep some of your data even after you close your account.
If you choose to close your account, we generally delete closed account information within 30 days of account closure, except as noted below.
We retain your personal data even after you have closed your account if reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse (e.g., if we have enforce our User Agreement, or fulfill your request to "unsubscribe" from further messages from us.

We monitor for and try to prevent security breaches. Please use the security features available through our services. We work to protect the security of your financial information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer ("SSL") software, which encrypts the information you input on the Site. We implement security safeguards designed to protect your data, such as HTTPS. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. However, we cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us. There is no guarantee that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
